Fast Food and How It Changed My Life....

As a child fast food was almost always around me , unfortunately that was one of the biggest reasons why I was so over weight. Even though my family rarely brought fast food home, some way or another I would find a way to get my hands on my favorite burger, or even junk food from the ice cream man. My family never relied on fast food on a day to day basis, my mother is actually really great at cooking! Being the only boy and the baby of the family really played a big difference in how I got my bad eating habits. Whenever I’d ask for a hamburger with fries, my mom would run and go get it for me. What I would ask for the most would probably be hamburger and fries from McDonalds, to me it didn’t seem like a meal more like a treat. After eating what most would consider a meal, I would go play with friends and would usually run into the ice cream man. I want to say that on a daily basis as I would run into him I would buy about a bag of chips and some candy from him. As a kid I thought all this eating junk food and fast food would not effect me at all since no one ever told me it was unhealthy for me to do. I finally starting noticing my unhealthy eating habits and weight when I hit about seventh grade. As I hit Junior High School I got teased a lot about the way I looked , and about my weight. I decided I needed to change my eating habits.

Now as a nineteen year old young man I am completely healthy and in shape. My weight was extremely bad when I finally decided to change and loose weight. As a result to changing my eating habits I lost fifty pounds, and now I hardly eat any junk food or fast food. I wouldn’t say I shun eating fast food, but I now know my limits and eat out occasionally. To me loosing all that weight and being able to deny any junk food or fast food makes me feel like I have great self control and I am proud of myself. I personally think fast food is ok to eat as long as you don’t eat it too much and you exercise enough to assure no weight is gained. I may sound like some crazy health freak but in reality I am still a nineteen year old teen that still eats out plenty. In the future I hope to keep my eating habits and my health very good since being over weight wasn’t really the best highlight of my childhood life. As a more mature person, I support parents that  limit there children on how much junk food they could eat. Even the government is playing there part in influencing kids to go out and play at least an hour a day. Honestly, I could say I needed that when I was a kid, but as of now I am happy with my weight and will maintain it.

about me

I was born and raised in Oxnard, California and have lived here my whole life. For elementary school i went to Tierra Vista Elementary School for grades 1-5. As i got older i attended jr. high at Ocean View JHS for grades 6-8. In 2010 i graduated high school at Channel Islands HS; now i continue my education at Oxnard college.

Currently i am a full time bank teller and part time student here at OC. My goal is to transfer from OC to VC and eventually transfering over to UCSB. Although it may sound like i know what i am wanting to do with my life, truely i do not. Still, I feel like I have a lot to learn before I actually know what I will be majoring in.

In the future I would like to be a full time student at UCSB and would like to also be a part time employee at a diffrent financial institution. I enjoy workin at a financial institution and will hopefully be employed by one as my career. If worst comes to worst and that does not work out then i would like to major in something that would get me involved with either being a parole officer or being a homicide detective which really interest me. For now i will just take life day by day, after all im only 19.
