Reality Television

I feel that reality shows now play a really big part of a lot of teenagers lives. To be completely honest I do watch reality television and watch what most teens watch now a days which is Jersey Shore. I enjoy reality television a lot and some what like it for all the drama that it depicts. I think drama in general is what attract people to these TV shows. Do I feel that this is a good imagine to be showing kids and teenagers , no , but nonetheless it attracts them. I feel that it not only effects teenagers and kids but also it effects our society. The things they show on this specific reality show is partying, clubbing, intoxication, and things that refer to sexual intercourse. That is definitely something teens should not be influenced to do. Although I feel this way, I also feel that it is also a good thing to show teens all this to show them the results of what being intoxicated are, and how they should better educate themselves about sexual intercourse and how they should be safe when doing it. I basically think reality television is good for one thing, learning from other peoples problems or mistakes. You see so many problems going on during the TV shows that you just sit there and just realize how much you don’t want to be like them, and how you want nothing to do with their problems.

    Reality television gives some what of a real point of view from peoples lives and how real the problems are on this type of show. These people on the shows are normal human beings , just like me and you , and that’s what makes it so interesting to watch. The problems and scenes , fights, arguments, everything that goes on the show is real and not just an actor reading and acting out some sort of script he was given to him. I also feel that this is another reason why people are so stuck in watching it ; cause of the reality of it! Sometimes even when watching it, you may come upon a problem you’ve experienced before and realize; “Hey, I’ve gone through that before, I can relate to that!” . Just that little relation alone is enough to feel as if you have something in common with one of the people that are on that show.  To conclude, I can say that I am unsure weather or not I am for or against reality television. At the end of the day it has its pro’s or con’s! Also another thing I may add is that it’s not up to me weather or not to say it’s good or bad, because others have different opinions. What I will say is that I feel is when I become a parent and shows like these are on, I will not keep my kids from watching it but more like teach them how what they are doing is not all that great, sure it may seem fun on TV, everything on TV seem fun to do. But nonetheless I feel most of what is shown on TV is all just for show and is not as great as they make it out to be.
